Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL)

Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is the primary gateway to the Philippines, handling both domestic and international flights across four terminals. Terminals 1 and 3 are primarily used for international departures and arrivals.

Location: Pasay City
Distance to Venue: Approximately 9 km
Estimated travel time: 30 minutes to 1 hour
Strength: Proximity to key business districts and established connections worldwide

Transportation options from NAIA to the conference venue

Taxi & Ride-Hailing (Fastest & Easiest)

These options are the easiest for travelers as you will be transported directly from the airport to your hotel.

Ride-Hailing Apps:

These apps are available in Manila with Grab, Joyride, and inDrive being the more popular options. Most apps are available in both the local Android Play Store and Apple App Store. Note that Uber does not operate in the country. Also note that some ride-hailing apps offer an option for motorcycle rides which may not be ideal when carrying heavy luggage.

Estimated costs is around ₱300–₱600, depending on time of day and dynamic or surge pricing.
Regular Taxi: Available at designated taxi bays in all NAIA terminals. Fare usually ₱300–₱500 (USD 5–9), depending on traffic.
Airport Coupon Taxi: Fixed rates, more expensive but safer and more reliable (₱600–₱900).

Airport Bus (Cheapest)

UBE Express or the Airport Bus offers a point-to-point bus service from NAIA Terminal 3 to various locations in Metro Manila. One of the stops is Robinsons Place Manila which is only a short ten minute walk to the conference venue. Please note that only NAIA Terminal 3 has a stop and you will have to transfer to this Terminal if you want to take the bus. Travel time is estimated at 1–1.5 hours (depending on traffic). Fare is currently ₱150 (as of September 2025).

Bus & Train Combination

You may opt to use various options for public transportation. You may take a bus from the airport to the EDSA-Taft LRT-1 station then take a train from the station Pedro Gil station and take a short walk to the conference venue. This option is more cost effective but takes longer travel time. Estimated cost is around ₱50–₱80 and estimated travel time is around 1.5–2 hours.

 Please note that these transportation options are usually full and may not be convenient for those carrying much luggage.

Private Transfers / Hotel Shuttle

Several hotels may offer airport pickup services. Rates usually range from ₱1,000–₱1,500 per vehicle.

  • For travelers unfamiliar with transportation system or with heavy luggage: hotel shuttle, ride-hailing apps, or Airport Coupon Taxi
  • Budget-friendly option: UBE Express bus to Robinsons Place Manila, then short walk/ride
  • For travelers familiar with public transport system and have light luggage: Bus & train combination

Clark International Airport (CRK)

Clark International Airport is a modern alternative gateway serving both domestic and international flights. It supports significant routes across Asia and the Middle East.

Location: Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga
Distance to Venue: Approximately 104 km
Estimated travel time: 2 to 3 hours (depending on traffic)
Strength: Less congestion, newer infrastructure, and growing recognition

Transportation options from CRK to the conference venue

Airport Bus to Manila

  • Most budget-friendly
  • Genesis P2P Bus / UBE Express operates Point-to-Point (P2P) services from Clark Airport to Metro Manila.
  • Drop-off options include Trinoma Mall (Quezon City) or Pasay/NAIA.
  • From there: To UP Manila (Ermita): Take a Grab/taxi (~₱200–₱400 from Pasay; ~₱250–₱450 from Trinoma).
  • Cost: ₱300–₱400 (bus) + Grab/taxi fare.
  • Travel time: 2.5–3 hours total.

Direct Taxi or Ride-hailing Apps

  • Fastest and direct to hotel but expensive
  • Taxis and ride-hailing services are available at Clark, though availability of drivers willing to go to Manila can be spotty
  • Direct ride to UP Manila estimated to costs around ₱3,000–₱4,500
  • Estimated travel time: approximately 2–2.5 hours

Private Shuttle or Car Rental

  • Private car hire or shuttle service can be booked in advance through hotels or travel agencies
  • Cost ranges ₱3,500–₱5,000 per vehicle (good for groups)
  • More comfortable and direct than buses

Recommended Options

  • Solo traveler or on a budget: point-to-point bus to Pasay then taxi/ride-hailing app to UP Manila

  • Groups or travelers with heavy luggage: pre-booked shuttle or private transfer for convenience

  • Quick but costly: direct taxi/ride-hailing from Clark to UP Manila
